Antigen 9.0 for Exchange continuously fails over between cluster nodes and scan jobs

Article ID: 939415

Article Last Modified on 7/19/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Antigen for Exchange

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange in a cluster environment, Antigen 9.0 cannot retrieve scan jobs. Additionally, Antigen 9.0 continuously fails over between nodes.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there is more than one network name resource in the Microsoft Exchange Server cluster group. Therefore, Antigen 9.0 cannot correctly retrieve information for the scan jobs. For example, this problem occurs if the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) is in the Exchange Server cluster group.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem produces the symptoms that are described in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

933639 Antigen 9.0 cannot retrieve scan jobs, and e-mail messages begin to queue up in an active/passive cluster environment

Additionally, the following message is logged in the ProgramLog.txt log file:

"ERROR: ADGetStorage - Could not bind to Active Directory configuration context. Error code: 80005000"

However, the hotfix that is described in article 933639 does not resolve the problem that is described in this article.
