SYMPTOMS
When you run a Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0-based device application, the device application stops responding. This problem occurs if the application calls the SqlCeEngine.Verify method to check a suspect database for consistency.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites
- You must uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition 3.1 before you install this hotfix.
- This hotfix is available for ARMV4i-based devices that are running Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2.
Restart information
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

You do not have to change the registry.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. After you install these .cab files, the file version number is 3.0.5300.2 for the SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition DLL files.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, repair the suspect database before you run the device application.
