  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

SYMPTOMS

You marshal a distributed transaction across application domains by using the EnterpriseServices component in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. After you do this, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type 'System.EnterpriseServices.TransactionProxy' in Assembly 'System.EnterpriseServices, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is not marked as serializable.

Note This problem does not occur in the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the transaction proxy is marshaled by a value instead of by a reference.
