INTRODUCTION
This article discusses how to downgrade from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium Edition.

If you plan to install Windows Small Business Server (Windows SBS) 2003 R2 Premium Edition, and you use business programs that do not support Microsoft SQL Server 2005, you can request downgrade rights to Windows SBS 2003 SP1 Premium. Windows SBS 2003 SP1 Premium includes Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition. This configuration lets you install SQL Server 2000 in a Windows SBS 2003 R2 environment.
Important If you use your downgrade rights and install SQL 2000 standard on the Windows SBS 2003 R2-based computer, you are no longer licensed to install SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition. SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition is included with Windows SBS 2003 R2 Premium Edition.
When you install SQL Server 2000, you must use the product key that you receive with your SQL Server 2000 Fulfillment kit.
If you plan to install Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004, we recommend that you use the Windows SBS 2003 R2 Premium Technologies (PREMTECH) CD-ROM. If you install ISA Server 2004 by using the SQL Server 2000 fulfillment kit, you must manually configure Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) to use ISA Server 2004.
