Error message when you try to browse a workgroup from the network neighborhood in ERD Commander 2003: "The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available"

SYMPTOMS

When you open the network neighborhood and locate a workgroup, you receive the following error message when you try to browse the workgroup:

Error: 53
Error: 1208
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.

Additionally, nothing is listed in the workgroup.

This problem occurs after you start a computer in ERD Commander 2003 and you load the desktop.

Note ERD Commander 2003 is a component of Winternals Administrator's Pak.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the information about the local domain has not been loaded in ERD Commander 2003.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click Start, and then point to Explore.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Add Domain.
  3. Type the name of the domain that you want to add.


MORE INFORMATION

Workgroups are always listed in the network neighborhood, regardless of network and domain configuration. This is default behavior for all Microsoft operating systems.
