INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to install a service pack or a software update on a computer that is running Sybari Antigen 8.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server and that is running either of the following:
- Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services
- Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003

To install a service pack or to install a software update on a computer that is running Antigen for SharePoint Portal Server, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
- In the Services list, click SharePoint Portal Administration, and then click Stop.
- Click SharePoint Portal Alert, and then click Stop.
- Click SharePoint Timer Service, and then click Stop.
- At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
Note This command removes Antigen dependencies from the SharePoint server.
antutil /disable
- Install the service pack or the software update.
- Under Services, click SharePoint Portal Administration, and then click Start.
Note The SharePoint Portal Alert service also starts. - Click SharePoint Timer Service, and then click Start.
- Verify that the services started correctly.
- Stop the SharePoint Portal Administration service, the SharePoint Portal Alert service, and the SharePoint Timer Service service again.
- At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
antutil /enable
- Start the SharePoint Portal Administration service, the SharePoint Portal Alert service, and the SharePoint Timer Service service again.
