- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Bug #: 50000957 (SQL Hotfix)
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You develop a project by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. You try to use the OdbcCommandBuilder class to update a Sybase database in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Note This problem occurs when you use the Sybase ODBC driver to connect to the database.
CAUSE
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
- The driver that you use to connect to the database does not support the SQLColAttribute(SQL_DESC_BASE_TABLE_NAME) function. The driver will return an empty string when it uses this function.
- The driver returns a blank character (" ") when the driver uses the SQLGetInfo(SQL_IDENTIFIER_QUOTE_CHAR) function.
