APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:

  • On a relationship form, you configure a Parental type relationship between a primary entity and a related entity.
  • You set the following behavior values for the relationship:
    • Configurable Cascading
    • Cascade Active
  • An action is performed against the primary entity.

When the action in this scenario occurs, the settings that you specified are ignored.

Note This problem can be caused by any of the following actions:

  • assign
  • reparent
  • share
  • unshare

This problem occurs if the related entity is one of the following related entity types:

  • Contract
  • Quote
  • Appointment

For example, you specify the following settings:

  • In the Relationship: Account to Appointment form, you select Configurable Cascading in the Type of Behavior list.
  • In the Relationship Behavior section of the form, you select Cascade Active in the Assign list.

In this scenario, any active appointments for which the account is the regarding object are not assigned to the new user.
