SYMPTOMS
If you edit a non-PostScript graphic using the Picture command in Word for the Macintosh, the Picture command changes all lines that are less than 1 point (such as hairlines) to 1 point.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Picture command does not support line widths less than 1 point.
MORE INFORMATION
For example, if you paste a graphic image from MacDraw II or MacDraw Pro in a Word document, hairline or .5 point width lines appear correctly. If you then edit the graphic in Word by double-clicking the image, Word changes the hairline and .5-point width lines to 1 point lines.
If you created your graphic image in a program that embeds PostScript code in the graphic (such Adobe Illustrator or Aldus FreeHand), Word retains lines less than 1 point wide when you edit the image using the Picture command.
