Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

You receive a "Not a valid e-mail format" error message when you try to add a contact to an area of the portal site.

Consider the following scenario. In an area of the portal site, you click Change Settings under Actions, and then click Enter contact to add a contact. You specify the contact information that you want. Then, you click OK. However, you receive the following error message:

Not a valid e-mail format

This problem occurs if the e-mail address that you specify in the Contact e-mail address box contains one or more number signs (#).
