SYMPTOMS

When you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation in Windows Vista, the Tablet PC Input Panel tool is unavailable. This problem occurs when the User Account Control dialog box or a confirmation dialog box is displayed on a secure desktop.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Tablet PC Input Panel tool is running under the Local User account. When Windows Vista switches to the secure desktop, all applications and tools must run under the Local System account. Therefore, the Tablet PC Input Panel tool is unavailable.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must use a physical keyboard to interact with the secure desktop.
