SYMPTOMS

When you attach a device that loads the Serial Scanner driver (Serscan.sys) to a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the system may stop responding. Additionally, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:


DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION (c9)
The IO manager has caught a misbehaving driver.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000021f, (Non-fatal error) A driver has not filled out a dispatch routine for a required IRP major function. (IRP specified.)
Arg2: f1958e80
Arg3: 87c10f00
Arg4: 00000000

This problem occurs when the Verifier.exe utility (Driver Verifier Manager) is turned on.
