Article ID: 925173

Article Last Modified on 10/15/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You create a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation (.pptx) or open an existing PowerPoint 2007 presentation. Then, you publish the presentation. When you publish the presentation, you type the URL of the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 server that hosts the Slide Library in the Publish To box in the Publish Slides dialog box. In this scenario, when you visit the Slide Library that is hosted on the SharePoint Server 2007 server, the presentation does not appear in the Slide Library.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you type an incorrect URL in the Publish To box when you publish the presentation.

For example, you type http://ServerName.com instead of http://ServerName.com/sites/SiteName/slide_library in the Publish To box. Additionally, you have only the Write permission on http://ServerName.com. In this situation, the presentation is saved to the root of http://ServerName.com. The presentation is not saved in the Slide Library.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, make sure that you type the correct path of the Slide Library that is hosted on the SharePoint Server 2007 server.
