APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Windows CE 5.0
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, activity on a TCP socket is suspended for a long time. Then, after network communication resumes, a packet must be retransmitted. In this scenario, the time-out before the retransmission is longer than expected. This time-out may last as long as 2 minutes, instead of the expected time-out of 1 to 10 seconds.
Notes
- This behavior affects only those packets that must be retransmitted because of a network collision or because of a lack of wireless network coverage.
- The first attempt to send a packet always occurs immediately after the application layer calls the Windows Sockets Send function.
