    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. On a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you use Exchange System Manager to access the Templates tab or the MS-DOS Templates tab in a template's properties. The template is in the following path:

Recipients\Details or Address\Templates\Language

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

An Invalid ADSI pathname was passed. ID no: 80005000

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • The forest and the domain are running in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 mode.
  • The Active Directory schema contains a class that has been disabled. When this occurs, the isDefunct attribute for the class is set to True.
