FIX: Events may be logged every time that the SnaBase service starts on a backup server that is running Host Integration Server 2004

SYMPTOMS

Every time that the SnaBase service starts on a backup server that is running Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004, the following events may be logged:

Event 1


Event Source: SNA Base Service
Event ID: 1013
Description: The SnaBase service was not able to apply an updated Security Descriptor to the configuration file due to Windows NT Error 0. The text of the Windows NT Error is: The operation completed successfully.

Event 2


Event Source: SNA Base Service
Event ID: 1013
Description: The SnaBase service was not able to apply an updated Security Descriptor to the configuration file due to Windows NT Error 5. The text of the Windows NT Error is: Access is denied.

Event 3


Event Source: SNA Base Service
Event ID: 1014
Description: The SnaBase service was not able to apply an updated Security Descriptor to the Registry due to Windows NT Error 6. The text of the Windows NT Error is: The handle is invalid.

A backup server that logs these events operates correctly despite the warnings.

RESOLUTION
