INTRODUCTION

The on behalf of <username> (Groove user) label in a Groove Mobile Workspace for SharePoint shows the last Groove user who modifies the document from Groove.

MORE INFORMATION

If you create a document in a Groove Mobile Workspace for SharePoint, the Created By box will show your Groove identity. If you modify the document and synchronize to SharePoint, the Modified By box will also show your Groove identity.

However, when other users edit the document from SharePoint, the Modified By value will change to the appropriate SharePoint user. But the name of the previous Groove user who modified the document will be retained as the on behalf of <username> (Groove user) value. This occurs because the SharePoint user does not have the appropriate permissions to modify the on behalf of <username> (Groove user) value. Therefore, its previous value is retained.

When the information is synchronized back to Groove, Groove retains the information from SharePoint, because Groove cannot validate whether the on behalf of <username> (Groove user) value is correctly associated with the most recent modification, with a previous modification, or with the user who created the document.

Therefore, the on behalf of <username> (Groove user) value should be read as, "The last time Groove made a change to this document, it was on behalf of <username>".
