SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use a dial-up connection on a Windows-based computer that is using one or both of the following Interactive Logon and Scripting options:

  • Show terminal window
  • Run Script

In this scenario, you experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • You cannot enter your credentials in the post-connect terminal window.
  • Your credentials are not entered automatically by a post-connection script.
  • The connection attempt times out on the server to which you try to connect.


CAUSE

This problem may occur if the original version of security update 911280 (MS06-025) is installed on the computer. The original version of this security update was released on June 13, 2006.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, uninstall the original version of security update 911280 (MS06-025) that was released on June 13, 2006. Then install the version of the security update that was available from June 27, 2006.
