SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based computer, you use the Ftp.exe program to connect to a remote FTP server. However, when you try to perform a GET operation, you receive the following error message:

GetTempFileName calloc:I/O Error

CAUSE

When Windows Server 2003 SP1 is installed, the Ftp.exe program writes a temporary file to the current working directory. However, if you do not have sufficient permissions to write to this directory, you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
