SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services on the computer. Then, you install or repair one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section. In this scenario, you cannot use the MSOLAP provider name to reference the Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Office 2003 Setup program installs the older PivotTable Service. This older PivotTable Service overwrites the version-independent ProgID attribute.
RESOLUTION
How to obtain the hotfix
This issue is fixed in the Office 2003 post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix Package that is dated April 24, 2006. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
