SYMPTOMS
When Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 tries to synchronize lists that are based on a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (2.0 or 3.0) Web site, or SharePoint lists, you may be prompted repeatedly to enter your authentication credentials. The number of times that you are prompted may be much larger than you expect. For example, you may be prompted 10 or more times to enter your credentials.
CAUSE
This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:
- You do not have the required permissions to access the SharePoint lists. Or, authentication fails for a different reason.
- Outlook 2007 tries to synchronize several SharePoint lists.
When these conditions are true, you are prompted to enter your authentication credentials every time that Outlook 2007 tries to synchronize a SharePoint list. You may be prompted more than one time for each SharePoint list.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
