Microsoft has released the April 5, 2006 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package for Microsoft Outlook 2002.

INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Outlook 2002 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated April 5, 2006.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • Consider the following scenario. In Outlook 2002, you use the Encrypt contents and attachments for outgoing messages option. Then, you reply to an e-mail message. In this scenario, the recipient e-mail addresses may not resolve correctly when you reply to the e-mail message.


This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:

    • You reply to an e-mail message that was received through a Microsoft Exchange connector.
    • The sender of the e-mail message has an X400 address.

  • The optimized version of this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows Installer version 2.0 or a later version. For more information about the Windows Installer requirement, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    330537 Office XP updates and patches released after September 2002 may require Windows Installer 2.0

  • The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. The full-file version of this hotfix is a post- hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP Service Pack 3 installed.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix is not replaced by any later hotfix.

You do not have to create any registry keys or modify any registry keys to use any hotfixes that this package contains.
