SYMPTOMS

The "Last modified at" information that is displayed for a file in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services may differ from the "Last modified at" information that is displayed in Groove.

MORE INFORMATION

Groove Mobile Workspace for SharePoint and Windows SharePoint Services access different information about record modifications. This information depends on where the record was created and how the record was modified. For example, if you modify a record that was created on a SharePoint site from that SharePoint site, the "Last modified at" information may appear as follows:

  • In Groove:

Last modified at Jan 20, 2003 12:23:37 PM by QAACT32\Administrator (SharePoint User)

  • On the SharePoint site:

Last modified at 1/20/2003 12:23 PM by QAACT32\Administrator

If you modify a record that was created in Groove from the SharePoint site, the "Last modified at" information may appear as follows:

  • In Groove:

Last modified at 1/20/2003 12:05 PM by - QAACT32\Administrator (SharePoint User) on behalf of Jane Dow (Groove User)

  • On the SharePoint site:

Last modified at 1/20/2003 12:05 PM by QAACT32\Administrator

If you modify a record that was created in Groove by using Groove, the "Last modified at" information may appear as follows:

  • In Groove:

Last modified at Jan 20, 2003 12:23:14 PM by Jane Dow (Groove User)

Note You see this information immediately after you modify the record. After some time, the following information appears in Groove:

Last modified at Jan 27, 2003 12:31:54 PM by Anonymous user (SharePoint user) on behalf of Jane Dow (Groove user)

  • On the SharePoint site:

Last modified at 1/20/2003 12:31 PM by QAACT32\Administrator

The OnBehalfOfGrooveUser field on the SharePoint site is not reset when the user modifies a document from the SharePoint site. Also, a user of the SharePoint site can actually set the value of this field to any value. Therefore, Groove cannot reliably determine whether the user who last modified the document is a user of the SharePoint site or of Groove when the document is modified on the SharePoint site and in Groove.
