SYMPTOMS

You experience slow performance when you try to print or when you view printer properties. This problem occurs when you have Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed on a cluster node that acts as a printer server.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the driver upgrade process is running. When a failover occurs from one node to another, this upgrade process starts on the target node and causes slow performance. You can verify that the upgrade process is running by checking Windows Task Manager for a Rundll32.exe process.
