Bug #: 40000100 (SQL Hotfix)

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2005 fix release.

SUMMARY

This article describes the following about this hotfix release:

  • The issues that are fixed by this hotfix package
  • The prerequisites for applying the hotfix package

  • Whether the hotfix package is replaced by any other hotfix package
  • Whether you must make any registry changes after you apply the hotfix package
  • The files that are contained in the hotfix package

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You have a transactional replication in Microsoft SQL Server 2005. You run the dbcc dbreindex command or the alter index command at the same time that Log Reader Agent is running. In this scenario, some transactions are not replicated to the subscribers.

Additionally, when you run SQL Server 2005 by using trace flag T8209, messages that resemble the following may be logged in the SQL Server Errorlog file.

Error message 1

<Date> spid74 [ReplSchemaTrace] {0xd2:109:3}, GetHoBtLockNoError failed on rowsetId 72057594047430656, rowset may not exist in current schema!

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Log Reader Agent does not copy all transactions into the distribution database.
