INTRODUCTION

This article contains information about how to save the content of a Groove chat that you did not start from a workspace.

MORE INFORMATION

If you start a chat by clicking Chat in the Options menu, Groove does not automatically keep a history of the information that is shared in this separate chat window. If you close the chat window, the contents disappear. Additionally, there is no record of the invitation.

Note Groove does automatically keep a history of the information that is shared in a separate chat window that you start from a workspace.

However, if you are a manager in the chat, you can use one of the following methods to save a chat that you started from a workspace:

  • The Save as Workspace function from the Common Tasks pane in Groove Virtual Office 3.x.
  • The Save as Space option in Groove Workspace 2.x.

When you use one of the previously mentioned methods, a workspace is created from the chat. This workspace opens the chat in a new window on the computer. Other members of the chat are notified that the chat has been saved as a workspace. Additionally, all the members will see the new workspace in their workspace listing. Members can reopen the workspace after they close the separate chat window.
