If you want to create a co-edit session for a Word document that is protected with a password, all members in the co-edit session must know the password. However, when you save changes to the document, the Files tool must close the current temporary file and then open a new one. Therefore, every time that you save a change, all other members in the co-edit session will be prompted to enter the password.
If you want to co-edit a Word document that is protected with a password, we recommend that you remove the password from the document before you add the document to the co-edit session. After the document has been edited, you can readd the password to the document.
