INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Outlook 2003 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated February 2, 2006.
Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue.
913886 Error message when you try to link to a personal folder (.pst) file from a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site to Outlook 2003: "You cannot connect to a Windows SharePoint Services site with an Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders file (.pst)"
This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you attach an item to an HTML-formatted e-mail message in Outlook 2003, Outlook 2003 unexpectedly closes. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that is similar to the following error signature:
Application name Application version Module name Module version Offset Outlook.exe 11.0.6565.0 Outllib.dll 11.0.6568.0 0006cc04 - You create a shortcut group in Outlook 2003. The shortcut group name contains an apostrophe (') character or a forward-slash (/) character. When you restart Outlook 2003, all the shortcut groups are missing. Additionally, the shortcuts in the missing shortcut groups are missing.
- Consider the following scenario. You upgrade from Microsoft Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. You have a favorites group in Outlook 2000 that contains a forward-slash character or an apostrophe character. In this scenario, most of the shortcuts may appear in Outlook 2003 the first time that you start Outlook. However, if you start Outlook 2003 again, all the shortcuts are missing. This behavior occurs in in any shortcut group.
