INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Office XP issue that is fixed in the Office XP post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated April 5, 2006.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:You create a document in Microsoft Office Word 2002. When you try to insert an object that uses the drawing canvas, such as a text box, a new drawing, or an AutoShape, Word may stop responding (hang).

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

  • The Track Changes feature is enabled.
  • You use an Input Method Editor (IME).
