SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, you may experience a decrease in performance as measured by the number of documents that are processed per second. When you use a long-running orchestration, such as a singleton orchestration, BizTalk Server performance may decrease over time.

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • A long-running orchestration has some transactional or non-transactional scope inside a loop.
  • Messages are received in the scope.

Additionally, the BizTalkMsgBoxDb database may grow very large.
