Xbox 360: You receive a message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live by using the Halo 2 in-game menu

SYMPTOMS

When you try to sign in to Xbox Live by using the Halo 2 in-game menu, you receive the following message:

You have an important message from Xbox Live. Would you like to go to Account Management in the Xbox Dashboard?



You can decide whether you want to continue to the Account Management screen or remain offline.

Note If you continue to the Account Management screen, no message will be available. Additionally, Halo 2 may restart.

CAUSE

You will receive this message if the following conditions are true:

  • You use a child’s Xbox Live account when you try to sign in to Xbox Live by using the Halo 2 in-game menu.
  • You have the Original Xbox Online Games setting set to Blocked in the Family Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard.


THINGS TO TRY

  1. Configure the Family Settings option in the Xbox Dashboard to enable the user of the child’s Xbox Live account to play Halo 2. For more information about how to configure Family Settings, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
