Xbox 360: The console stops responding when streaming music loses connectivity from a computer or from a device

SYMPTOMS

When you stream music from a computer or from a device, the Xbox 360 console may stop responding.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when the Xbox 360 console loses connectivity with the computer or the device that contains the music files.

THINGS TO TRY

When you connect to Xbox Live for the first time, an auto update that resolves this issue will install.

If you cannot or do not want to connect to Xbox Live, follow these steps to work around the issue:

  1. Restart the console.
  2. Re-establish a connection between the computer and the Xbox 360 console.
  3. Make sure that the computer has a continuous wired or wireless connection to the console when you load and play music.
