APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2
SYMPTOMS
When you re-create or overwrite an existing file, File Explorer may show duplicate entries for that file in Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2. If you update the File Explorer view, the duplicate entries no longer appear. If you repeatedly re-create the file, the system may run out of memory.
CAUSE
If the CREATE_ALWAYS flag is specified in the CreateFile API function call, file system notifications are sent that indicate that a new file has been created. The file system sends these notifications regardless of whether the file already exists.
