INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Outlook 2002 issue that is fixed in the Outlook 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated October 12, 2005.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • You save attachments from an e-mail message in Outlook 2002. You successfully save these attachments to a subfolder of a network drive that is connected to a WebDAV folder. However, the following symptoms occur:
    • The attachments are saved to a folder that is one-level higher than the subfolder that you specified.
    • The attachments are saved with an incorrect file name. That is, the name of the subfolder to which you wanted to save the attachments is prepended to the file names of the attachments.

For example, this behavior may occur if you connect a mapped drive with a command such as net use z: http://myserver/myDAVfolder. Then, you save the e-mail message attachments to the following mapped drive:

    z:\myfolder\mysubfolder
