SYMPTOMS

When you try to change the password on a Linux operating system that interoperates in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1(SP1) domain, you cannot change the password. Additionally, you receive the following error message:


passwd: Ticket expired changing password.

CAUSE

The problem occurs because the pre-authentication flag is not set after you install Windows Server 2003 with SP1.
