SYMPTOMS
When a policy contains two or more business rules that use the same instance variable in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, the rule engine may return incorrect values. This problem occurs when you change the value of the variable in one rule, and then use the same instance variable in a second rule.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the rule engine does not cache XML fields correctly. Therefore, an incorrect value is used when a policy contains two or more business rules.
RESOLUTION
