SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You create a folder in the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services document library. Additionally, you create subfolders under the folder that you created. Then, multiple users upload some files to or create other folders under the Windows SharePoint Services document library that you created.
In this scenario, you find that the subfiles and the subfolders that are in the folder are modified when you try to rename the parent folder of the Windows SharePoint Services document library that you created. Specifically, you find the following modifications:
- The time that is in the Modified area is the time that the parent folder was renamed.
- The name that is in the Modified By area is changed to the person who renamed the parent folder.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
