INTRODUCTION
This article describes the issue that is fixed in the Microsoft Word 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated September 6, 2005.
Issue that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- You create a new document by using an existing document (.doc file) instead of by using a template (.dot file) in Word 2002. You close and then reopen the new document. When you do this, the existing document is attached as a template. However, the Normal.dot template should be attached as a template.
