SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You use Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 OLE DB Provider for DB2 to run multiple INSERT commands against an IBM DB2 table. The IBM DB2 table is configured to use the Arabic code page. In this scenario, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

- The Arabic code page corresponds to character code set identifier (CCSID) 20420.
- The number of INSERT commands that you must run for this problem to occur is not fixed. The number of INSERT commands depends on the available resources on the system that is running OLE DB Provider for DB2. For example, this problem may occur for a Microsoft SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) package that is designed to run thousands of INSERT commands against an IBM DB2 table.
RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
