INTRODUCTION

This article lists the minimum system requirements to run Microsoft Dungeon Siege II. Additionally, this article discusses the graphics hardware that is supported or unsupported in Dungeon Siege II.

You can use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to look up the system information. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. On the System tab, view the processor and memory details of your computer.
  3. Click the Display tab. In the Device section, note the name of the video card and its Approx. Total Memory.
  4. Click Exit.

Minimum system requirements for Dungeon Siege II

  • Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1).
  • A computer that has a 1 gigahertz (GHz) or higher processor.


Note If the computer has an ATI Radeon 7000 series or an Intel Extreme Graphics 82845, 82865, or 82915 graphics adaptor installed, the minimum processor speed required is 2.0 GHz.

  • 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM.
  • A hard disk that has at least 4 gigabytes (GB) of available space.
  • A quad-speed or higher CD drive.
  • Sound card, speakers, or headphones are required for audio.
  • A keyboard and a Microsoft mouse or compatible pointing device.
  • A LAN or Internet connection for online or multiplayer games.
  • DirectX 9.0c. Included in the game CD.
  • A supported graphics adaptor that has at least 32 MB of memory.

Supported graphics hardware

To play Dungeon Siege II, your graphics hardware must have access to a minimum of 32 MB of memory. Additionally, your hardware must pass a system check when you start the game. If you receive the following error message, your graphics hardware did not pass the system check, and it is not supported by Dungeon Siege II:

Your hardware configuration is below minimum specification for Dungeon Siege II and may not run the game optimally. This is most likely because:

1) Your video hardware does not have enough memory (32MB or better).
2) Your video chipset has been detected as not supporting the features required by Dungeon Siege II.

Continuing to play may result in graphical glitches or other problems.
