SYMPTOMS
When you build a C++ application in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, you may receive the following error message:
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- In the project properties, you set the Optimization option to Maximum Speed /02.
- You build the application in release mode.
Note You do not receive the error message when you build the application in debug mode.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you use the "Less than or equal to" (<=) logical operator to compare two values. This logical operator is not optimized to compare two values.
RESOLUTION
A supported software update is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This software update may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio .NET 2003 service pack that contains this software update.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the "Less than" (<) logical operator to compare two values. For example, do not use the following code:
for (i=1;i<=n;i++)
Instead, use the following code:
for(i=0;i<n;i++)
