APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office Word 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Microsoft Office Word 2003 document by using Reading Layout view and you resize the document window, text boxes on the page become smaller or move toward the edge of the page.

CAUSE

This problem occurs after you install the MS05-023 security update for Word 2003. Part of the MS05-023 security update affects how Word 2003 handles Enhanced Metafile (EMF) graphics. The MS05-023 security update resolves issues that prevented the hotfix that is mentioned in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 896271 from functioning as expected for the editing of an EMF graphic.
