INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Office XP issue that is fixed in the Office XP post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated May 20, 2005.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • You try to print an Office XP document that contains semi-transparent AutoShapes or text boxes. You try to print this document to a black-and-white or grayscale-only PostScript printer. In this situation, the printing process may take longer than expected.

This issue occurs after you install Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), the security update MS04-028, or any other hotfixes that install an updated Mso.dll file. If the Mso.dll file has a file version that is in the value range of 10.0.4929.0 and 10.0.6761.0, you may experience this issue.
