SYMPTOMS
When you use the CreateObject ("HTMLFile") function to create an HTML document, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 may stop responding. You may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
When you click the link to view the data in the error report, you receive an error signature that is similar to the following:
Error signature: AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: mshtml.dll ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106 Offset: 000a0249
This problem occurs when you use the createElement("TABLE") method to create a table, and then use the insertRow(-1) method to insert a row into the table.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the open() method to open the object before you use the object.
