SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004, you use the ISA Server administration COM objects to delete a rule. However, the rule is not deleted.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- The rule name contains non-English uppercase letters.
- The application changes the locale.
Note The ISA Server COM code that handles rule names is locale-sensitive.
RESOLUTION

To apply this hotfix on ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition, you must have ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed on the computer.

To work around this problem, use only English uppercase letters in rule names.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in ISA Server 2004. This problem was first corrected in Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004 Service Pack 2.
