INTRODUCTION

List of issues fixed

This hotfix package fixes the following issue.

  • 898120 An SQL query that includes Resource and Calendar read views takes longer than expected to return the query results in Project Professional 2003

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • Indicators to notify you that documents are associated with a task are missing after you modify a document library

Consider the following scenario. You link one or more tasks in a project to one or more documents in a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services document library. Then, you modify the document library in Datasheet view. When you view the project on the View A Project page in Project Center, the There are documents associated with this task indicators in the Indicators column are no longer displayed next to the tasks in the project.

  • The date that appears in the Created column is incorrect when you view a project in Project Center

Consider the following scenario. You programmatically create a project from an enterprise template by using the ProjectCreate method. Then, you log on to Project Web Access 2003 and view the project in Project Center. In this scenario, the date that appears in the Created column is incorrect. The date that appears in the Created column unexpectedly represents the date that the enterprise template was created. The date that appears does not represent the date that the project was created.

  • The MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure contains an incomplete INNER JOIN statement

The MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure contains an incomplete INNER JOIN statement for the PROJ_ID field. This condition may create values in the OC_CACHED_FULL_NAME field that do not have separator characters.

  • Resources unexpectedly appear in both the Filtered Enterprise Resources list and the Resources in the project list on the Build Team page

You click Build Team in Project Center to build a team for your project. When you view the Build Team page for your project, you find that some resources unexpectedly appear in both the Filtered Enterprise Resources list and the Resources in the project list. You expect a resource to appear in either the Filtered Enterprise Resources list or the Resources in the project list.

This problem may occur if Project Server 2003 contains a large number of resources. For example, this problem may occur if Project Server 2003 contains more than 2000 resources. In this scenario, the ResourcesStatus method incorrectly processes the resources that are displayed in the lists on the Build Team page.

  • Unsubmitted timesheets for users who account status is set to Inactive are displayed on the View timesheet summary page

Consider the following scenario. You log on to Project Web Access 2003 as a member of the Resource Managers group or the Project Managers group. The link appears under Timesheet on the Home page indicates that one or more users have unsubmitted timesheets for a particular time period. When you click the link, the View timesheet summary page lists users who have unsubmitted timesheets. However, you notice that the list includes users whose account status is set to Inactive.

  • Certain operations are performed two times when you build an online analytical processing (OLAP) cube in Project Web Access 2003

You build an OLAP cube in Project Web Access 2003. When you view the log file, the log file shows that the following operations are performed two times when the OLAP cube is created:
    • Initializing Cube 'MSP_ASSN_FACT'
    • Initializing Cube 'MSP_RES_AVAIL_FACT'
  • Information about resources does not appear in the table on the View resource assignments page

You log on to Project Web Access 2003, click Resources, and then click View resource assignments to view resource assignments for a project. You add resources to the Resources to display list, and then click Apply. However, in certain scenarios, information about the resources does not appear in the table on the View resource assignments page.
  • Project Server 2003 sends e-mail messages about status reports to users even after the account status of users is set to Inactive

You configure Project Server 2003 to send e-mail messages to notify and remind users about upcoming or overdue tasks and status reports. Users who sign up for e-mail notifications and reminders receive the e-mail messages. However, Project Server 2003 continues to send e-mail messages about status reports to users even after you set the account status of users to Inactive.

  • Values that represent actual work unexpectedly disappear when you view the next time period in Timesheet view

Consider the following scenario. You log on to Project Web Access 2003. In Timesheet view on the View my tasks page, you enter work that you completed on a project task assignment. You enter work for all days of the week. This work includes the weekend. When you click the arrow to view the next time period, values that represent actual work unexpectedly disappear.

  • The Marked column is not displayed on the View a project page in Project Center

You publish a project that contains a Marked column to Project Server 2003. When you log on to Project Web Access and view the project in the Project Center, the Marked column is not displayed in the view on the View a project page. You expect the Marked column and the values that the column contains to be displayed in the view.

  • "An error occurred while trying to access the resources stored on the database." error message when users try to view resource information on the Resources page

Consider the following scenario. You log on to Project Web Access 2003 and define a filter for a Resource Center view. The fields that you specify in the filter are not in the Displayed fields list for the view. When a user views resource information on the Resources page by using the Resource Center view that contains the filter, the user receives an error message that is similar to the following:

An error occurred while trying to access the resources stored on the database. Either there are too many resources, or Project Server may not have the correct DSN configuration. Contact the server administrator

The user cannot change to another Resource Center view until you remove the filter from the view or until you add the fields that are specified in the filter to the Displayed fields list.

  • Elements of a status report are missing or are unavailable on the Submit a status report page

You create a status report request in Project Web Access 2003. Then, you send the status report request to your team members. When a team member fills out the status report, the user experiences the following symptoms on the Submit a status report page:
    • The Send button and the Save button are unavailable.
    • Toolbars are missing from the page.
    • Borders of certain text boxes are incorrectly rendered on the page.
    • The name of the status report is not displayed on the page.
This problem occurs if the name of the status report contains one or more apostrophe characters.
