SYMPTOMS

When Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 has a high volume of messages to process, some messages that BizTalk Server picks up by using a File receive adapter location may be lost. When this problem occurs, these lost messages do not appear in the Health and Activity Tracking (HAT) center. Additionally, corresponding events are logged in the Application log.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if BizTalk Server temporarily loses connectivity with the remote Microsoft SQL Server database. In this situation, the BizTalk Server File adapter may lose some messages while the File adapter is transferring these messages to the remote SQL Server database.
