You receive a "You must enter a valid time" error message when you try to save an appointment or a task by specifying a Russian time format in Microsoft CRM 1.2

Article ID: 895596

Article Last Modified on 9/8/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Customer Service
  • Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales, when used with:
    • Microsoft CRM 1.2
  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

After you configure a time value for a new task or appointment in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, when you try to save your changes to that task or appointment, you receive the following error message:

You must enter a valid time.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • You are using a Russian language edition of Microsoft CRM 1.2.
  • From the Due list in the task or in the appointment, you select a time that is in a Russian time format.

When you create a task or an appointment in Microsoft CRM 1.2, the default time is set to 12:00 PM. However, in the Russian language version of Microsoft CRM 1.2, the Russian language versions of the "AM" and the "PM" options also appear on the Due list where you select a time. When you select one of these options, the error occurs because Microsoft CRM 1.2 cannot handle Russian time formats.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
