SYMPTOMS

When you try to save a new activity or to open an existing activity's detail Web page in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:

An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

You receive this error message if the activity is for an account or for a case and if both of the following text items appear in the Account Name field or in the Title field:

  • The equal sign (=)
  • The word "type" or the word "dsc"


RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
