Article ID: 894874

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook, when used with:
    • Microsoft CRM 1.2
  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

You resolve an e-mail sender's address to a new contact, account, or lead record in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2 or in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook (the Outlook client). However, when you reopen the e-mail message that you used to resolve the address, the From field is still red. Red indicates that the sender’s e-mail address is unresolved. Additionally, you receive the following warning message:

The sender does not have an e-mail address.

If you examine the record that you just created in Microsoft CRM, you see that the record's e-mail address field is blank. This field should have been populated with the e-mail address from the e-mail message's From field.

This problem occurs if the Convert to e-mail activities All incoming e-mail option in Microsoft CRM is turned on. To verify whether this option is turned on, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Activities tab.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
